About Getting married in Las Vegas: the back story
Las Vegas is famous for weddings, from Elvis ceremonies to grand resort receptions. Here is how to plan one.
The licence
Every wedding in Clark County needs a marriage licence from the county’s Marriage License Bureau. The Office of Civil Marriages downtown performs civil ceremonies but does not issue licences. Check the Clark County Clerk’s website for current requirements and hours.

Chapels
The Little White Wedding Chapel, founded in 1951, offers a drive-through; Chapel of the Flowers has four chapels and a gazebo; Graceland calls itself the first Elvis wedding chapel; and Viva Las Vegas stages themed weddings with a pink Cadillac. The Little Church of the West has held weddings for more than 70 years.
In Las Vegas you can marry in a chapel, a tower or a canyon.
Resorts and the sky
Bellagio, Wynn and Caesars Palace have their own wedding salons and chapels; Chapel in the Clouds is high up the STRAT; and Maverick Helicopters offers weddings in the air or on a canyon landing site.
Good to know
Popular dates such as Valentine’s Day and repeating dates book up early. Ask each chapel what its package includes, such as photography, music and transport.
Our advice: get your licence first, then choose between a quick chapel ceremony and a resort celebration.
